Tears of Hope and Change: The Need for Lament in a Multicultural World
This event has now ended. Please view this page to see all our upcoming events.
We live in a world that is undergoing dramatic cultural changes. As we encounter these changes, will we approach the world with the same set of lenses as in previous generations? Or will we confront elements of our cultural captivity that free us to engage this multicultural reality with a fresh perspective? In this evening lecture, Soong-Chan Rah will address key aspects of our changing world and seek a theology of lament that engages the breadth of Christianity in the twenty-first century, looking towards biblical and historical examples to guide our emerging framework.
Rev. Dr. Soong-Chan Rah is passionate about the multi-cultural Church and its local expressions. He currently teaches at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago and serves on the board of World Vision, among other Christian not-for-profits. Read his full bio.
Join us for this free Evening Public Lecture. Our lectures tend to draw large crowds, so plan to arrive early for a good seat.
Soong-Chan Rah will also be teaching the course Cultural Intelligence for a Changing Church from July 29 to August 2. The course will explore the process of socio-cultural exegesis, engage in theological reflection, and initiate the practice of developing culturally intelligent communities for effective ministry.
