Join Jason Lepojarvi, Research Fellow at St. Benet’s Hall, Oxford, and former president of the Oxford CS Lewis Society, for his lecture: "Aslan's Mother: C. S. Lewis's Theological Blind Spot?"

What does it mean to love God "more" than people? This lecture engages the difficulty of defining worship, veneration, and idolatry, by looking at C. S. Lewis's observations on the subject. Lewis offers helpful nudges toward more than a merely conceptual distinction, but he does not consistently apply his love principles to cover human love for the saints (Mary in particular). The lecture will conclude with follow-up questions that benefit Christians across denominations as they seek to understand their own devotional practices and that of their sister churches.
