Into Africa Course: Film Screening & Informational Meeting
This event has now ended. Please view this page to see all our upcoming events.
Join us for a screening of the film Between a Shoe and the Roof. This documentary film by Theran Knighton-Fitt and Melanie Brown follows the 2014 Into Africa class to Kenya and back, offering a glimpse into different cultural expressions of the gospel around the globe. Watch as Regent College students eagerly and hesitantly enter a new cultural setting and encounter expressions of Christianity that are deeply shaped by their African context. Walk with the students as they re-examine their own cultural identities and come to a new realization of what it means to follow a God who meets us where we are, yet calls us to participate in the Holy Spirit’s work among the worldwide body of believers.
Following the screening there will be an informational meeting with Diane Stinton about the Summer 2017 course Into Africa: Exploring Theology and Ministry in Nairobi, Kenya (June 10–23). The course will explore aspects of African Christianity, both intellectually and experientially, through intensive exposure to theology and ministry in Nairobi, Kenya. The course is offered off-campus at the Africa International University. We hope to see you there!
