What can we learn from the saints about prayer in uncertain times? Join Dr. Bruce Hindmarsh (James M. Houston Professor of Spiritual Theology; Professor of the History of Christianity) for a teaching retreat at the Peace and Spirituality Center in Bellevue, Washington. Bruce will be speaking on “A Life of Prayer in Uncertain Times: Lessons from the Saints”. The retreat takes place Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. The cost is USD 59 per person (or USD 69, lunch included).

The teaching sessions will explore the following topics:

  • Gregory the Great: When my world feels like it’s collapsing, how do I follow God?
  • Teresa of Avila: How do you find inner freedom when life has become oppressive?
  • John Newton: Amazing grace in a broken world.

There will also be a viewing of The Amazing Story of Amazing Grace, a film documenting the life of John Newton. The retreat will conclude with a Q&A time with Bruce.
