The Regent Bookstore invites you to join us on April 20 for a Bible Saturday lecture from Research Professor of New Testament Rikk Watts.

About the Lecture

Rikk Watts will discuss the relationship of Jesus’s identity and mission in light of two key texts: Isaiah 40 and 53. This exploration will offer fresh insight into Jesus’s incarnation as the long-awaited personal presence of Yahweh and perspective on the formative influence of Isaiah 53 on Jesus’s own understanding of his death. This topic exemplifies Bible Saturdays’ goal of reading scripture with “intention, purpose, and context” so that we might participate more faithfully in the drama of redemption.

About the Speaker

Rikk Watts, former Professor of New Testament and current member of Regent's research faculty, has a long-standing commitment to historical evangelicalism’s emphases on the LORD Jesus, Scripture, and a transformed life of discipleship through the Spirit. Part of the preaching team at Living Waters Church, Fort Langley, Rikk continues to preach and teach at a range of churches and conferences throughout BC, North and South America, the UK, and Australia.
