Located on the main floor of the College, the Chapel is at the heart of Regent’s spiritual community.
NOTE: With the Regent College building undergoing a refresh during the Fall 2024 term (and the fact that there are currently no chairs or carpet in the Chapel!) our weekly Chapel gatherings will be held at University Chapel (5375 University Blvd) from 11:15 am-12:15 pm from September to December 2024.
This slightly later start time will allow students, staff, and faculty to get from Regent to U Chapel, which is an 8 minute walk from the College (if you know the quickest way to get there)!
Parking: There is very limited parking at University Chapel, so unless you have pre-arranged parking with University Chapel, please plan to catch transit, or park elsewhere and walk to Chapel. If you do park in the lot at University Chapel, please only park in one of the spaces marked "Regent."
Full of light, Regent's chapel serves as a warm and welcoming home for weekly Chapel gatherings, lectures, and conferences, and is a recognized gathering place for the members of the Regent community.
The five banners that hang from the ceiling at the front of the Chapel represent creation, incarnation, crucifixion and resurrection, Pentecost, and the second coming of Christ.
Tuesday worship at the Chapel
Fostering worship and enriching the spiritual community at the College are the chief functions of Regent’s weekly Chapel gatherings. Held from 11:00 am–12 pm every Tuesday during the Fall and Winter terms, this is the one regularly scheduled opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to come together. Our Chapel gatherings are also attended by members of the wider community, students dropping in from UBC, and visitors to our campus. All are welcome! During Spring and Summer, Chapel days and times may vary.
In peak periods, particularly when the pressure of impending deadlines is most intense, Chapel can serve as a kind of mini-retreat, a place to recover perspective, share joys and concerns, and encourage each other in maturing faith.
A Chapel Design group, led by the Worship Coordinator and made up of students, faculty and staff, work together to plan and facilitate Chapel each week.
After Chapel, students, faculty, and staff gather together to enjoy an informal lunch of homemade soup and bread, and to meet in community groups for one hour of discussion, sharing, and communal prayer.
For more information on community groups, other prayer spaces on campus, and more opportunities for worship, visit the Worship page in our Current Students section
