About the Lecture
When we read the Bible we often look for dynamic characters and dramatic events, but we forget to examine one significant character: The Land. Rocks, soil, and water determine a person's profession. The texture of the land with its hills and valleys determine where the major and minor roads go and whether people have easy access to international communities (and therefore wealth!). Prophets and psalmists used visual images from the natural world to communicate theological ideas. What can the physicality of the Land of the Bible tell us about God's design for his kingdom and what it means to live in a land of milk and honey?
