Book Launch: Echoes of Coinherence
This event has now ended. Please view this page to see all our upcoming events.
Dr. Hastings will be giving a lecture introducing his latest book, Echoes of Coinherence: Trinitarian Theology and Science Together.* It will be a presentation on the intertwined history of the disciplines of theology and science, focusing particularly on the late medieval period and the Reformation onwards. This history demonstrates the growth of science from its traditional status as the child of Christian theology into something like a rebellious teenager with the advent of modernity. Dr. Hastings will discuss what measures, can be taken to bridge the perceived gap between science and theology in contemporary discourse. He will present the incarnation as the key to the thesis that theology and science are, after all, coinherent. In light of this coinherence, Dr. Hastings argues, the two disciplines may interact positively: theologians need science and scientists need theology.
Ross Hastings is the Sangwoo Youtong Chee Associate

organometallic chemistry (Queen’s University, Kingston) and theology

the interface between science and theology.
