Christianity and Islam dominate the global scene with 3.9 billion total followers: 2.3 billion Christians, and 1.6 billion Muslims. The ethos of both traditions has shaped and will continue to reshape socio-political and economic systems around the world. Exploring historical encounters between the two religions as well as variances in religious traditions can help us understand contemporary global conflicts and their impact on Christian-Muslim relationships.
