You are invited to join us for an evening lecture celebrating the release of Dr. Craig M. Gay's latest publication, Modern Technology and the Human Future: A Christian Appraisal.
From the plow to the printing press, technology has always shaped human life and informed our understanding of what it means to be human. And advances in modern technology, from computers to smartphones, have yielded tremendous benefits. But do these developments actually encourage human flourishing? By exploring the doctrine of the incarnation and what it means for our embodiment, Dr. Gay offers a course correction to the path of modern technology without asking us to unplug completely.
Craig Gay is Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at Regent College in Vancouver. Author of several books, including The Way of the (Modern) World (Eerdmans, 1998), he has also contributed chapters to a number of collections on the subjects of modernity, secularization, economic ethics, and technology, and his articles and reviews have appeared in Christian Scholar's Review, American Journal of Sociology, Crux, and Markets & Morality
