Introduction to Old Testament Hebrew I
The aim of this course is to lay the groundwork for a lifetime of reading the Old Testament in its original language. Together, we’ll learn and practice the basic vocabulary, morphology (word forms), and syntax (use of words to form sentences) of biblical Hebrew. Through reading, writing, listening, speaking, and acting, we’ll deepen our connections to the language to sustain long-term retention and fluency of reading.
About Summer Hebrew
Old Testament Hebrew I and II are offered together in an intensive format during Summer Programs. The pace is rapid, and the workload is heavy, but many students find the immersion experience to be richly rewarding.
