Martyrs, Monks & Mystics
Beginning in ancient Rome and ending in Renaissance Florence, this travel-based course will trace the development of Christian life and devotion from the era of persecution to the Christian society of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. From the catacombs in Rome to the Florentine world of Dante, we will see the transition of Christianity from a persecuted sect to a cornerstone of European culture captured before our eyes in the physical records of architecture and art.
This course is offered in conjunction with a tour of Italy led by experienced tour guide Pastor Bronwyn Spilsbury. For full details of the tour, please refer to Bronwyn’s website: https://pilgrimway.ca/event/italy/.
