How does it work?
Convene exists to help you gather and learn with friends online.
Here’s how it works:
- Gather a small group of people who are interested in learning together. Start with friends, family, neighbours, or your church small group. Group members don’t need to be in the same place: they can participate from anywhere in the world.
- Register your group to access free resources on Scripture, theology, culture, and Christian practices, with new material added weekly through the summer.
- Download our brief Convene: Learning Together guide.
- Stream a talk with your group and then discuss what you are learning. You’ll find useful discussion prompts alongside the Learning Together guide. Some talks will also come with extra materials and specific discussion questions.
If your group members are short on time or if you're all in different time zones, you can stream the talk separately and gather just for discussion. But the discussion is essential! The point of Convene is to share an experience, even if you can’t meet in person, you can still gather, eat, discuss, reflect, pray, and learn in community.
How much does it cost?
It’s free! Typically, Regent talks are for sale on Regent Audio when the live event is over, but when you register your group for Convene, you and your group members will be given free access to streaming video content for an extended period of time.
How do I sign up?
For Hosts or Group Leaders: Register your group by filling in the registration form. Once you’ve completed your registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing links to access our streaming videos, Learning Together guide, and upcoming events. Each member of your group will need to register by completing the registration form and including your group name, so please ensure that you share the registration form link and your group name with each person who will be participating.
For Group Participants: Join an existing group by filling in the registration form. You will need to include your group name on the form. If you do not know your group name, please ask your group leader / host. Once you’ve completed your registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing links to access our streaming videos, discussion prompts, and upcoming events.
Don't have a group? At this time, we are unable to organize groups for individual participants. We recommend that you sign up as a host and look through the list of lectures to see if there are one or two talks that a couple people you know might be interested in watching with you. Start small and go from there.
