Summary of the Position

The Content Manager will play a lead role in the creation, growth, and maintenance of a dynamic online collection of excellent theological content housed within Regent College’s website. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this position will work closely with the Director and external consultants to develop and implement a long-term digital content strategy built around two primary goals:

1.      To equip Christians around the world with excellent and easily accessible theological resources for the building up of the church and the kingdom of God.

2.      To increase Regent’s brand recognition and salience as a trustworthy source of theological teaching and thought leadership.

The Content Manager will manage the launch of a redesigned Regent College website, working with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to implement the newly developed digital content strategy. Following launch of the site, they will collaborate with staff and faculty to maintain a steady flow of timely, relevant, and missionally effective content in service of the digital content strategy.

The Content Manager will be embedded in Regent College’s Communications Team, reporting to the Director of Communications and holding responsibility for the creation and publication of creative content reflecting the theological teaching and vision of the College. They will work alongside the Senior Writer and Editor on the Communications Team, who will manage content related to policies, recruitment, administration, and academics.

The hourly rate for this position is between $29.50 and $32.50.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement short-, medium-, and long-term content strategies in collaboration with the Director of Communications.
  • Project manage the launch of Regent College’s redesigned website.
  • Oversee production and publication of content (defined here as multimedia articles, blog posts, images, videos, and/or audio resources) reflecting the mission, values, and ethos of Regent College.
  • Work with faculty members and other experts to develop accessible and intellectually sophisticated content appropriate to Regent’s educational mission.
  • Work with writers, designers, videographers, and other creative professionals to present excellent theological content in a variety of media formats and styles.
  • Provide editorial, creative, and technical support to content creators.
  • Review and edit content before publication.
  • Manage an editorial calendar providing for distribution of content across all relevant platforms, including email and social media.
  • Direct and review regular reporting on user engagement.
  • Build engagement with Regent College across all major social media platforms.
  • Nurture brand loyalty among Regent students, alumni, donors, and other affinity groups, including members of key Regent constituencies such as pastors and church leaders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Understands and supports the ethos and mission of Regent College as articulated in The College’s Theological Position.
  • Has a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Has 2 years’ experience in writing, editing, or digital publishing with 5 years’ work experience in total, or a combination of education and experience would be considered.
  • Has a proven ability to produce high quality work in a time sensitive and deadline oriented environment.
  • Has excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Excels in their oral and written communication skills.
  • Is experienced in creating and managing content for websites.
  • Has a working knowledge of CMS.
  • Has the ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Is familiar with the Evangelical Christian intellectual and cultural landscape.
  • Is a strong copyeditor and proofreader.
