Appointment of Dr. Diane Stinton
The Board of Govenors has appointed Dr. Diane Stinton to a full-time position as Dean of Students and Associate Professor of Mission Studies, effective January 2011.
Diane comes to us with a BA, BEd (Calgary), MTS, ThM (Regent College) and a PhD (Edinburgh). With a background in New Testament and Spiritual Theology, Diane sought to integrate academic and spiritual formation through her combined roles as a professor and chaplain at Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya.
Following her PhD studies in African Christianity, she facilitated the design and implementation of a new MTh in African Christianity at Daystar. She later moved to the Africa International University (AIU) / Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology to assist in launching a new MTh in World Christianity.
Diane is the author of Jesus of Africa: Voices of Contemporary Christology, various articles on African Christianity, and the editor of African Theology on the Way: Current Conversations. Aside from her love for game park safaris and Indian Ocean beaches, she delights in being a mom to her Kenyan daughter, Zawadi ("Gift" in Swahili).
We thank God for his provision of Diane and pray for her and Zawadi during these days of transition.
