Regent Community Members Winners in the 2011 CT Book Awards

Christianity Today has announced their 2011 Book Award winners, and they include several past and present members of the Regent College community.

Regent College Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology Eugene Peterson won top honours in the Spirituality Category for Practice Resurrection: A Conversation on Growing Up in Christ, while Regent Teaching Fellow, Theology Alister McGrath did the same in Apologetics / Evangelism withThe Passionate Intellect: Christian Faith and the Discipleship of the Mind. Dr. McGrath will be teaching Truth, Beauty, and Imagination: Christian Apologetics in a Postmodern Contextthis July as part of Regent's 2011 Summer Programs.

Awards of merit went to Regent College alumna Julie Canlis for Calvin's Ladder: A Spiritual Theology of Ascent and Ascension and Summer Term 2011 professor Christopher Wright forThe Mission of God's People: A Biblical Theology of the Church's Mission. Dr. Wright will be teaching God's Word, God's World, and God's Mission: Reading the Whole Bible for Mission this May at Regent. Another award of merit went to Board of Governors' Professor of Theology J.I. Packer and Regent alumnus Gary Parrett for Grounded in the Gospel: Building Believers the Old-Fashioned Way.
