Steve L. Porter
Dr. Steve L. Porter is Senior Research Fellow and Executive Director of the Martin Institute for Christianity and Culture and Dallas Willard Research Center at Westmont College, and affiliate Professor of Theology and Spiritual Formation at the Institute for Spiritual Formation, Talbot School of Theology. Steve received his PhD in philosophy at the University of Southern California under Dallas Willard and his MPhil in philosophical theology at the University of Oxford.
Steve teaches and writes on Christian spiritual formation, the doctrine of sanctification, the integration of psychology and theology, and philosophical theology. He has authored a variety of books and articles and co-edited Psychology and Spiritual Formation in Dialogue (IVP), Neuroscience and the Soul (Eerdmans), and Until Christ is Formed in You: Dallas Willard and Spiritual Formation (ACU Press).
Steve is cofounder of the Intellectual Virtues Academy of Long Beach, a grade 6–12 charter school committed to an intellectual virtues educational model. Steve also serves as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. He is married to Alicia and they have two teens, Luke and Siena.
