MALTS Program Assistant
Part-time, up to 12 hours/week
Opening date: Monday, January 6, 2025
Closing date: Monday, January 27, 2025
Reporting to the MALTS Program Manager (PM), the MALTS Program Assistant (PA) will serve the College by providing administrative support to the Program Manager and Program Director. This will include supervised engagement and support to students and faculty both on and off campus as well as interaction with external stakeholders.
This position is up to 12 hours per week with additional hours during winter and summer residencies.
This position has an hourly rate between $21-$23 per hour.
Responsibilities:
General Administration- Assists the Program Manager with general administrative tasks
- Updates course materials (syllabi, Canvas, etc.)
- Ensures consistency across course materials (e.g., syllabi, Canvas, etc.)
- Creates and maintains the Canvas environment for each MALTS course
- Communicates with students regarding course administration details
- Assists in scheduling, organizing, and hosting in-person and virtual meetings, providing the necessary support according to each meeting and event
- Is available to students for potential administrative questions
- Assists in special projects (i.e. conducting research) related to MALTS
- Participates in MALTS promotional activities.
- Provides Administrative support for summer and winter residencies
- Organizes residency meals and interacts with caterers
- Assists with classroom preparation, including room setup (e.g., chairs, tables, audio, video conferencing, etc.)
- Stays in touch with sessional faculty to be sure their class needs are provided
- Provides class support, including collecting assignments and photocopying documents as needed
- Assists in planning the Capstone retreat.
Skills and Experience:

- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
- Integrity and reliability
- Experience with MS Office, Zoom, and Google Suite
- Ability to work proactively, independently, and in collaboration with others
- Proven effective administrative skills; multi-tasking, and planning
- Experience with Canvas or or other course management platform is considered an asset.
