The Receptionist serves as a first point of contact for both internal and external constituents of the College and directs them to appropriate ends. The Receptionist is responsible for responding to all inquiries at the Reception desk, offering general registration support to students, and performing general administrative duties. This role also assists with the stewardship of the College’s finances through the processing of Accounts Payable and various other accounting duties.
The annual salary range for this position is $40,000 to $43,880.
Responsibilities:
- Manage in-person inquiries at the front desk
- Answer and direct all telephone and email inquiries
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, faxes, and forms
- Process daily outgoing mail and courier activity
- Receipt and process in-person tuition and fee payments
- Provide basic registration support to students
- Answer basic student account questions in-person and via email
- Participate in planning meetings relevant to reception (Summer Programs, Orientation, other events)
- Receive and distribute academic assignments
- Manage budget and inventory for general supplies
- Assist with the main floor photocopiers and book personal copying
- Support College events and room bookings
- Support Student Services with basic enquiries
- Complete accounting month-end procedures
- Accounts payable and the weekly cheque run
- Weekly deposits
- Maintain petty cash
- Maintain personal accounts as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Understands and supports the ethos and mission of Regent College as articulated in the Theological Position
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of work experience in an administrative or reception position. Other relevant work experience may be considered
- At least one year’s experience in an Accounts Payable role
- A book-keeping qualification preferred or equivalent experience in financial accounting
- The ability to deal diplomatically and tactfully with the public as well as an excellent customer service orientation
- Reliable, punctual, and proficient in Microsoft Office
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to multi-task and a keen attention to detail when managing a high volume of work
- A demonstrated ability to use sound judgment when making decisions and establishing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work well on a team
- A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
