A NEW FORMAT FOR OUR MOST POPULAR DISTANCE EDUCATION COURSES

December 03, 2012
We want to create a better learning experience for all students who are not able to take these courses on campus.

In January 2013, students who register for the Old Testament and New Testament Foundations distance education courses will be participating in a new model of distance learning.

The model is based on the idea of studying with a cohort of fellow students to work through the material together on a weekly basis.

In the previous model, students could register and begin a course at any time, which meant that they essentially completed the course independently. Under this new arrangement, students will be able to interact with other students and the instructor about the course material and issues raised by the course. The purpose is to create a better learning experience for all students who are not able to take these courses on campus.

The new model applies to all students who register for BIBL 501 Old Testament Foundations and BIBL 502 New Testament Foundations distance courses after December 1, 2012. The cohort begins the week of January 14, 2013. Students will have six months to complete the entire course.

Over the next two years, all of our distance education courses will be converted to this new format.
