SEVERE WEATHER POLICY
Certain extreme weather conditions may necessitate the closure of the Regent College building. In the event of a building closure, on-campus classes will transition to Zoom as they are able.
The College’s policy regarding campus closure due to snow, impassable roads, or power outages is to follow the decision of UBC. In the event of overnight severe weather conditions, students are encouraged to listen to local radio and television stations for news of class cancellations at UBC. UBC’s policy is to make every effort to communicate any decision to cancel classes to radio and television stations by 6 am. Students may assume that an announcement of class cancellations at UBC will also mean that Regent’s on-campus classes will transition to Zoom.
Regent College will also post a closure notice on the main page of our website in the event that the College campus is closed and classes transition online. Students, staff, and faculty are asked to check there, and to check UBC’s website for the latest updates and information regarding severe weather closures.
In the event the College campus is closed, staff are not required to work that day. However, the College’s IT team will continue to support online learning from home.
