Barney is a Teaching Fellow at the Faculty of Theology and Religion, University of Oxford. Before completing a PhD in theology, he worked as a software engineer for the BBC. His particular interests include the history of ideas, the relationship between philosophy and theology, and the intersection between social justice and virtue ethics. His current research project focuses on the Christian ethics of refugees and immigration. Barnabas hosts a podcast called Faith at the Frontiers and is the author of Ricœur at the Limits of Philosophy (CUP: 2022).
