Iain Provan's Seriously Dangerous Religion Wins R.B.Y. Scott Award
We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Iain Provan, Marshall Sheppard Professor of Biblical Studies, has been awarded the Canadian Society for Biblical Studies' R.B.Y. Scott Award for his book, Seriously Dangerous Religion: What the Old Testament Really Says and Why It Matters.
The R.B.Y. Scott Award recognizes an outstanding book in the areas of Hebrew Bible and the Ancient Near East, authored by a member of the CSBS. Dr. Provan's award-winning book, Seriously Dangerous Religion, poses ten fundamental questions and considers the surprising and challenging answers found in the Old Testament. His thoughtful exposure of misconceptions about the Old Testament and his careful attention to the text provide fresh insight into the significance of the Old Testament for our world today.
Please join us in extending our warmest congratulations to Dr. Provan.
